under the stars
at the edge of the sea
there's no one around
no one but you and me
we'd talk for hours
as time drifts away
i could stay here forever
and hold you this way
- Meiko
Check
out a great new artist named MEIKO. Sweet lyrics with hints of Portishead
and Sade but folksy. Listen
to her album (a CD yet to be released).
UsabilityCamp
This
year's World Usability
Day will be held on November 8, 2007. WUD is focused on raising
awareness and visibility of usability engineering and user centered
design. In 2006, there were 225 events in 175 cities in 40 countries
with more than 40,000 attendees. See details from the 2007 Toronto
WUD event at usabilitycamp.org.
The
theme for World Usability Day 2007 is health care.
We're
currently lining up some great speakers and sponsors. We are seeking
a great venue for all those expected to attend. Please contact me
if you have a venue or suggestions for a large space with capacity
for +200 in downtown Toronto.
Inside Track on Mira
I
develop new products and services that exist on and use the Internet.
I
started building web sites in 1994, when the web was just for geeks,
and realized the potential of what was then, an exciting and boundless
new way to communicate.
Since
then, I’ve helped many clients develop Internet applications
and along the way, even joined some neat companies, like mobile
device software-maker 724 Solutions, award-winning Bank of Montreal’s
BMO InvestorLine and Netscape/AOL.
As
an independent consultant, I have helped clients achieve their business
goals and deliver to their customers a remarkable online experience.
Currently,
I’m focused on projects in the health care space that are
sure to help people get more out of their health care experience.
One
of greatest social challenges facing us today is a globally sustainable
health system - from pandemic crisis to changing demographics to
health literacy - the drivers for change cannot be ignored.
Education
B.Sc from University of Toronto, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
(MCSE) certification, Sheridan College (computers & networking)
and lectured at Centennial College.
